This adaptive re-use
project consisted of the conversion of an existing two-story residential
building to office use and a two-story addition. The office space was
required to collocate housing personnel from other Navy bases and to improve
services of the newly reorganized housing division.
Specific scope of
work items included:
- Complete demolition
and removal of all interior finishes
- Partitions; Doors
- Electrical systems,
fixture and wiring
- Mechanical system
and ductwork
- Wood frame structure
- Plumbing fixtures
and piping
- Structural steel
floor and ceiling systems
- Design of addition
and interior spaces of existing building for improved functional and
spatial relationships
- Design of plumbing,
mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
- Selection of interior
finishes and exterior finishes for the addition
- Design of furniture
plans
- Abatement of lead
paint
The coordination
of all modifications was required with the State Historic Preservation
office.
